Gothic Big Bear Wedding Photography | Introducing for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Garcia!
These two love birds were married during the COVID-19 lockdowns over zoom but wanted to share this special moment with their family through photography. When Brandie first contacted me about gothic Big Bear wedding photography, I was all for it! A black wedding dress is so unique that it made for a perfect wedding session in the woods.
Her family didn’t know they were married. Brandie wanted a significant way to tell them. Since they had planned for a wedding, but the pandemic took a little too long for these two, they decided that they couldn’t wait any longer to call each other husband and wife. When we met at the session, the two were smiling and excited. They were striving for dramatic, no-smiling gothic Big Bear Lake wedding photography. Still, it became a bit harder for them when they started to tell each other why they originally wanted to marry each other.
We played Howl’s Moving Castle’s soundtrack, creating an airy feel to a dramatic wedding session. Big Bear Lake is always the place to be when it comes to weddings. The stunning wooden backdrop brings out a different vibe than the big city. It’s secluded, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind.
Initially, we planned to go to Bluff Lake Reserve, but the Radford Fire had shut down the location. Firefighters used the lake to battle the flames and closed off the roads. Yet, I knew the perfect location to take Brandie, who was looking for tall and thick trees to match the gothic Big Bear Lake wedding photography vibe. Growing up in Big Bear Lake has given me the blessing of knowing the area like the back of my hand. Brandie was beyond happy with the location.
This session was special to me because I can’t wait to photograph my best friend, who Brandie reminded me of, and her future wedding. Her dress and flowers were beyond gorgeous. I was fangirling over her the entire session. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Gracia! Thank you for letting me be part of your special moment.
